Upcoming Study Trip
Monday, Nov. 17 we will take our field trip to the Louisville Slugger Museum and Bat Factory as well as the Harrison Count Hospital. On this trip, we are focusing on economics and social studies. We'll learn about producers, consumers, goods, services, and three different types of resources (natural, human, and capital).
Please be sure your child dresses appropriately for the weather and wears comfortable walking shoes. We will do lots of walking!
You will also need to pack a sack lunch.

Footprints For Life
Our Footprints for Life program was a success! During week 1 we learned to use “I messages” to share feelings with others. Telling others how we feel helps us when we have conflicts.
During week 2, we learned to use a “stoplight” to help us resolve conflicts. We learned that when we are having a conflict (argument or disagreement) we should RED--STOP, calm down and cool off. YELLOW--Take our time, talk, think, listen. and GREEN--Go! Choose an idea that works best for everyone.
During week 3, we learned what peer pressure is and how we need to be in charge of our OWN decisions. WE decide what is right and what is wrong..
On week 4 we learned a little about the effects that nicotine, alcohol, and medicines can have on our bodies.
Week 5 we learned to cope (rather than mope) with life's difficult situations, frustrations, and upsets. We discussed ways to use sports, spending time with friends, deep breathing, etc. to cope during life's tough moments.
Week 6 we focused on diversity. WE talked about how each one of us is different and unique--and that makes life so much more interesting and fun!
Please visit the Footprints For Life website at www.footprintsforlife.org. All of lessons are there as well as an introduction to the puppets we interact with , additional activities (like word searches, coloring pages, and story problems), stories, and games.
